Normally made from wood and weigh between 1-2 pounds. These lightweight clubs are excellent for warm ups, prehab and rehab. Although they can be difficult to purchase here in Australia, they can be imported from the US. If you would like to learn more about Indian Club training check out the guys at ONNIT.
Clubbells
Clubbells, or Steel Clubs as they are often referred to are strength and conditioning tool. Although they look very similar to the Indian Club, their use is very different. Clebbells are far heavier and can weight anything from 2kg up to 20kg. Their shape make them perfect for large swinging movements and will build circular strength, grip strength and shoulder strength like no ther fitness tool on the market. This ancient weapon of war makes for a fantastic full body workout. Although originally used to build shoulder and grip strength for the wrestlers of Northern India, the macebell has been adopted all over the World by MMA athletes and fitness enthusiasts to build a strong lean body. For more information on the steel mace mastery certification check out the guys at the Dangerously Fit Academy.
Summary
To summarise, these functional training tools are an excellent addition to your training arsenal. In my opinion they should not replace exisiting training methods like kettlebells, barbells and dumbbells... but rather they should compliment them in addition to what you're already doing as part of an overall strength and condition training program.
